QUESTION: I
read an article in Focus, winter 2000, "Mastic Gum Kills
Helicobacter Pylori". I have a peptic ulcer and do not
want to go on synthetic antibiotics. Do you know
anything about mastic gum in regards to H. Pylori? I
would appreciate any input.
ANSWER:
I'm not personally familiar with Mastic Gum, but
there's lots of research out there pointing to the
positive results in the treatment of ulcers. I would say
since it is plan based and natural as opposed to
synthetic, it's worth a try. Try to find some that doesn't
have a lot of other things in it like cellulose etc.
