QUESTION: I have a blood clot in my brain they believe is caused by birth control pills.  I have to be on them for another reason though they currently have taken me off them.  I am taking coumadin and metropolol (they feel my blood pressure is high also though it's gone us since being on this medication I've noticed).  I would like to start taking butcher's broom but am wondering if it's ok to take with the coumadin.  Do you know if it is?  Any information you can provide would be very helpful.

ANSWER:  I cannot recommend the butchers broom if you are using coumadin as well. In my experience they are not good used together. I suggest you go immediately to a Chinese herbalist/acupuncturist in your area, look for the very best one. Ask at your local health store, and they should know who, is the best.  If you cannot get any help, I suggest the herb blood root, it should help you quite dramatically, however should only be used under the direction of a good herbalist, in your area.
