ANSWERS FROM CARLOS:
QUESTION
: I have Polycystic Kidney Disease.  I am in the end stage.  I know there is no cure other than a transplant.  Currently, I take the following Medicines:

Renvella (3600MG with meals)    [phosphorus binder]
Iron (at dialysis - liquid form... not sure the name)      [for anemia]
Hectorol    [converted vitamin D in a form I can absorb]
Epogen    [something normally produced by the kidneys]
Percocet 10/325 for chronic pain (back)
Colace      [stool softener - because of the percocet]
Xanax (when needed)      [anxiety]
Lisinopril      [high blood pressure]

What I would like to know is this... are there any herbal equivalents for these medications?

ANSWER: I am afraid that the herbal equivalents for any of these are not going to suffice to help your condition. Sorry.

QUESTION
: I need to know how many mgs of St. John's Wort equals 200mgs of Wellbutrin. If you can help me on this it would be great.

ANSWER: There is no exact equivalence of the antidepressant Wellbutrin (bupropion) and the herb St. Johnswort (Hypericum perforatum), but the recommended replacement dosage for St. Johnswort is 900 mg per day, usually 300mg three times a day. Like some drugs, St. Johnswort is usually taken for days to weeks before that dose is felt by the person taking it, and this dose is not usually increased as time goes by. I hope this is helpful.
