Tizer Botanic Gardens   We are Montana's only Botanic Garden & Arboretum and are also a member of the American Public Garden Assoc. We have three acres of developed gardens with over 1/2 miles of trails and are expanding into another three acres. We see over 12,000 visitors in our short growing season. We do have a small herb display garden and will be expanding that this spring. We are also an official test and demonstration garden for the Denver Botanic Gardens and Colorado State University "Plant Select" program. We have over 125 clematis in our collection that grows in our zone 3 region. We sometimes experience -30 to  -40 degree below zero temperatures in some winters and rarely get more than 60 to 65 consecutive frost free days. Despite this challenge we also grow 30 varieties of apples, pears, plums, cherries and hundreds of varieties of perennials. Our trees and shrub collection includes 25 varieties of Maples and over 100 types of evergreens.
